I’ve been capturing this sweet family since somewhere around 2016, and I am so honored to be invited year after year to create these images of their family in all it’s different stages. This spring session up in Allentown, PA from last weekend celebrates their baby Jack’s one-year birthday. I just love the first image of him taking his wobbly steps towards mommy, with proud big brothers and dad cheering him on. So much fun every time I see these guys!
This gorgeous high meadow location shows up in a lot of my Lehigh Valley, PA sessions, and it’s highly requested by clients for a good reason. It’s truly one of the most spectacular spots in the Allentown area, and it makes for a truly relaxed family photo session with all the wide open space, paths to explore and wander, sticks to play with, and in many seasons, wildflowers to frolic in.
Even though I am now based in Newark, Delaware, I still travel regularly for sessions in Lehigh Valley, PA and around the Philadelphia region as well as Delaware. While this is my favorite Allentown location to shoot, I can make magic anywhere that we get beautiful wide open space for the kids to move and explore. It’s really more about your family than the location, but there are certain characteristics I look for when choosing where to shoot an outdoor family session. I love a location that offers some variety in scenery (notice here we used some wooded area and the logs for variation. In early spring when there isn’t much color yet, I will find other natural elements to incorporate and add texture and interest. And most importantly, I love locations that give a sense of freedom, movement, exploration, and are semi-private meaning we don’t have distractions of other people around us.
