I’ve been a Malvern baby photographer for over 16 years now, and yet I never tire of capturing newborn babies in their homes. My recent newborn session with the Keegan family was so relaxed and the images we captured beautifully reflect their personal aesthetic. We spent a lovely few hours together capturing the immense love for their first baby. Jack was the most perfect baby for his in-home lifestyle newborn photography session! He was so calm, easy going, and full of personality at 8 weeks new. His parents decided to hold off on baby pictures until he a few months old so that they could capture Jack interacting with them, including eye contact and his sweet smiles. Jack woke up from his nap for this one, and wow did he ever wake up happy! It was so fun to capture his sweet little face.
What if my baby doesn’t sleep during my Malvern Newborn Photo session?
Baby boy was sleepy at the very beginning of the session, but since baby pictures with him awake were really important to his mama, we broke the golden rule of babies and gently roused him from his slumber. He woke up smiling and was such a darling baby for the entire two hours we spent together!
How old should a baby be for Malvern Newborn Photos?
Many newborn photographers in the area insist that babies be under 2 weeks old to take their pictures. But with my relaxed and natural lifestyle approach, it’s completely fine if parents would like baby portraits taken beyond that window- they are sleepiest in those early weeks and that’s why most photographers require that window for newborn photos, but in-home baby photography can happen at any time. Older babies are more alert and aware of their parents, and the interactions we can capture are priceless!
Incorporating Pets into your Malvern Newborn Photos
I had a blast with the Keegan family, and their cute pups Finn and Rufus. We snuck these two into the session by luring the pups over to sniff out his baby Jack’s head with some hidden dog treats near his outfit in order to capture the love between these guys. It is absolutely do able to have your pets involved in your newborn session! I strongly suggest having a family member or friend over to take them on a walk or to play outdoors until it is time for their moment in front of the camera. Having treats on hand definitely helps too!
I loved how Aly and Aidan’s interior design complimented the soft tones of their clothing so beautifully. By dressing in colors of your homes aesthetic, your pictures will fit in beautifully when you print them and hang them on the walls of your home.
