I am so excited that I will be your school portrait photographer this year! I believe that school portraits should be more than just a click of the shutter, but rather a little window into the heart of each child before my lens.
I believe in creating images that are timeless memories of this stage in your child's life. I create images to be printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.
I've been serving families through my photography since 2008. Whenever I pick up my camera, I strive to create beautiful and emotional images that tell a story and showcase the beauty of both the people in the images and the world around them.
My school portraits are a modern approach to school photos. No more cheesy smiles with strange backgrounds. Instead of forcing a cheesy grin, the children will be encouraged to be themselves and will never be forced to smile. By interacting with them for a few minutes I work hard to elicit a natural and authentic facial expression. My goal is to provide families with a more authentic and beautiful portrait of their child than a traditional 30-seconds sit and smile on a backdrop can offer.

I'm a big believer that images aren’t meant to solely exist in a digital space. One day, most likely, Instagram will be gone, your phone will be replaced and images that you can physically hold in your hand will be the best way to remember those precious moments we captured.
Think about this fact: fifteen years ago, if we had delivered you digital images, they would have been on a floppy disk. With the fast updates to technology, you would have no way to access those images today. Even the online galleries we deliver will eventually fade away.
But prints? Those last. I bet your family still has images from your grandparents (maybe even great grandparents.) And that was likely from a time period when cameras were expensive and prints were harder to come by.
bring your images to life with prints
If you purchase digital files, you are welcome to print the images on your own. If you do this, I recommend making sure that the printer does not color correct the images (many automatically do this.) I also recommend looking for a high quality printer. While 10 cent prints sound great in theory, the cheaper printing quality often won’t do my images justice. Paper quality, color correction and a handful of other factors play a big role in the way your prints turn out. This is one of the reasons why I LOVE offering professional prints to my clients.

While I don’t guarantee an exact number of images because each child is different, most families should expect to receive at least 3 images to choose from in their gallery.

School galleries are only live for ordering for THREE days. Please be prompt with your selections. If you purchase digital files, you will receive an email with a link to download. Please be sure to click the link and download to several devices while the gallery is still open.

While turnaround times can vary by season, I aim to deliver all images within two weeks of your school picture day.

You are absolutely welcome to share any purchased digital images on social media. To ensure that my work is properly represented, I ask that you refrain from any edits. I also appreciate image credits and tags as they help me to continue to grow as a business.

By default, the creators of images always own the rights to the images. However we’ll give you a release to use, print and share your images. The only thing you won’t be able to do is sell your image as a stock photo. We won’t do this either without your written permission.

I recommend dressing them in something timeless that reflects your family's aesthetic. Be sure to avoid shirts with words on them! I also encourage you to avoid neon colors to get the best skin tones.

I do light color editing on all of my images. Larger edits (such as removing cuts or bruises,) require more time and would require you to purchase a retouch add-on to your package.
